Day One: Hamilton, Ohio.
277 miles were driven to a town near Cincinnati to visit my mom’s cousin, Linda, and her husband, Barry. (That makes them my grandma’s sister’s daughter and son-in-law). Yikes. Could you swallow that one?
They welcomed us with warm hugs cold drinks, and sloppy joes while we caught up on our busy lives.
Soon enough there were two toddlers, a 7-week old baby, son and daughter-in-law, and niece to fill the remainder of the house. What a nice surprise it was to see everyone!
Now that it’s 10pm and everyone’s ready for bed, I guess I should get some shuteye for tomorrow’s gruesome 11 hour drive…
Day Two: Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Four hours of sleep, eighteen ounces of coffee, and 35 dollars worth of gas later, we’re on the road again!
A gloomy, dull drive of what was supposed to be 11 hours yet somehow turned into 12.5, led us to our Holiday Inn Express at last. (Get me out of this car ASAP!)
We didn’t even get a chance to go through either Louisville or Nashville, we literally hit the edge if each city not seeing even a glimpse. But such is life, I’m just glad the car didn’t fall to pieces. Thank you, God!
Hope I didn’t speak too soon…
Day Three: Houston, Texas.
We made it! We made it! We made it! And may I say, holy hotness.
Now comes working the 9 to 5, five days a week, unpaid dietetic internship plus grad school work. Wahoo! 🙂
